By now we have all seen and heard the terrifying images coming through from Mexico city. Devastation, fear and loss have gripped the city and the country. With crumbling buildings still falling, the massive search and rescue efforts will last days and weeks ahead.

For this disaster to befall Mexico on the anniversary of the 1985 quake is truly astounding. People still speak of that earthquake with sadness and horror and all I can hope for now, seeing it happen all over again is that perhaps the number of deaths are lower. Maybe with all the communication able to occur in an instant there will be less chaos and casualties. Perhaps the one thing we can do better this time around is give faster thanks to our connected global economy where we can send word and money faster than ever before.

In the weeks to come, medical supplies and treatments, clean water and shelter will be needed. Let us give now in hopes of giving towards the resources being depleted.
